Browsing and organizing content

This section describes Jellyfin libraries. For FTP or SFTP, see the section on folders at the end.

Home screen

On Home, you may find these sections when content is available:

  • Continue Watching: titles you started but have not finished.
  • Next Up: upcoming episodes of your TV shows.
  • Latest: recently added content.

Select a title to view its details or available actions. Sections may be empty if there is no activity or content to display yet.

Browsing libraries

  1. Open Libraries.
  2. Select the library you want to browse.
  3. Use Cover, Catalog, or Genres, depending on what you want to explore.

In Catalog, use Sort by to choose between name, date added, release date, production year, or rating. Change Order to reverse the sort order.

Global search is in development. To find a title, browse the catalog sorted by name or narrow your browsing using the available genres.

Viewing a movie or TV show

The details page may show the synopsis, cast, runtime, and other information about the title. The information depends on what is available on the server.

For TV shows, use Seasons and Episodes to choose what to watch. You can also play a season or use Shuffle unwatched episodes to start a random selection of episodes you have not watched. If all episodes are watched, Frame will let you know.

Favorites and watch status

Use the actions on the details page and episodes to:

  • Add to favorites or Remove from favorites.
  • Mark as watched or Mark as unwatched.
  • Mark an entire season as watched or unwatched.

Marking a season affects all its episodes. Check that you have chosen the correct season before doing so. These actions change the status associated with your Jellyfin account.

Hiding libraries

  1. Open Settings > Manage Libraries.
  2. Change the visibility of the libraries you want to hide or show.
  3. To access a hidden library, use View hidden libraries or Show hidden, wherever it appears.

Hiding a library changes its visibility in Frame; it does not delete its content from the server.

Browsing FTP or SFTP folders

Select a folder to open it and a video to play it. The file explorer shows the current path and, when available, the file size and playback progress.

Use Back to the previous folder to go up to the previous level and the refresh button to reload the content. These connections do not display Jellyfin's libraries, genres, or rich details pages.
