What is Frame?
Frame is a media player for Windows and Android. Connect it to your Jellyfin server to browse your libraries and play films and series, or add an FTP or SFTP server to explore folders and play the files stored there. Your media stays with the services you already use; Frame brings it into a player on your device.
To get started, you need access to a compatible server and your own media. Frame does not provide a film or television catalog. You can save more than one server and switch between them from the application.
Picking up a film or following a series
With Jellyfin, the home screen brings together recent additions and items you have started watching. Open a film to review its details, or move through a series by season and episode. Your playback progress helps you return to where you left off, and automatic playback can continue with the next episode.
During playback you can choose audio and subtitle tracks, adjust quality and move through the video. Subtitle reading aloud is also available, so spoken subtitles can accompany the film or episode. Some options depend on the tracks and information available from your server.
Taking your library offline
You can download films and episodes from Jellyfin to watch later without a connection to the server. The downloads view lets you follow transfers and manage the content stored on your device, while the offline library organizes the films and series you have saved.
For a series you follow, automatic downloads can keep a chosen number of upcoming episodes ready. Over Wi-Fi, Frame updates that selection as you watch, removing watched automatic downloads and fetching the next episodes. Manually downloaded files are kept separately from that automatic cleanup.
On your computer or Android device
Frame adapts its navigation to mobile and desktop layouts and includes keyboard navigation and screen-reader support. The application is available in English and Spanish, with appearance and playback settings you can adjust to how you use it.
