Downloading and installing Frame

Getting the application

Visit the MCV Software Frame page for distribution information. Use the official package for your device.

Distribution packages include an installer and a ZIP version for 64-bit Windows, as well as an APK file for Android. The availability of each package depends on the published release.

Installing on Windows

  1. Download the frame_setup.exe installer.
  2. Open the file. If Windows asks for permission to install, approve it to continue.
  3. Select the setup language and review the license agreement.
  4. Choose the installation folder and the Start menu folder.
  5. Complete setup and open MCV Frame from the shortcut or Start menu.

Using the Windows ZIP package

  1. Download the Windows ZIP file.
  2. Extract all its contents into a folder.
  3. Open frame.exe from that folder.

Keep all the extracted files together. Moving only the executable may prevent the application from opening. This option avoids the setup wizard; it does not mean your preferences and downloads are stored in that folder.

Installing on Android

  1. Download frame.apk to your device.
  2. Open the downloaded file.
  3. If Android asks, allow the application you opened the file from to install applications from that source.
  4. Complete the installation and open MCV Frame.

The names of the permission screens vary by device.

Updating Frame

  1. Close Frame.
  2. Get the new package from the official distribution channel.
  3. On Windows, run the new installer. If you use the ZIP package, extract the complete new version into a separate folder.
  4. On Android, open the new APK and follow the update prompts.

Avoid uninstalling as your first step when updating: you could lose local data. Before traveling, check that the downloads you need are still available.
