Frame settings
Open Settings from the main navigation to personalize Frame. Some options depend on the active server type.
Accessibility
Subtitle Reading (TTS) automatically announces subtitle text through the screen reader. You also need to select a subtitle track in the player. If you prefer to listen without these announcements, disable this option.
Downloads
- Download over WiFi only: limits manual downloads to Wi-Fi networks. Automatic downloads always require Wi-Fi.
- My Downloads: opens the management screen for saved content and transfers.
See Downloads and offline use to set up automatic downloads per series.
Playback
- Autoplay next episode: continues with the next episode when the current one ends.
- Hardware Acceleration: uses your device's capabilities to play video. Try turning it off if Frame crashes or has picture problems during playback.
- Video quality on Wi-Fi and Video quality on mobile data: set the usual quality for each connection. Lower quality reduces data usage. Always ask lets you choose when starting playback.
- Skip Intro / Credits: choose Disabled, Manual, or Automatic. Requires segment information from the server.
- Transcoding Codec: chooses the video format to request from Jellyfin when adjusting quality. Keep the current selection if everything works; if you change it and playback problems appear, return to the previous selection.
- Hide player controls: sets how long controls remain visible, or select Never hide.
Some quality names may appear in English. Direct Play preserves the original quality; profiles from High to Minimal request progressively lower quality.
Appearance and libraries
- Manage Libraries: hides or shows libraries on the home screen without deleting content from the server.
- Theme: choose System, Light, or Dark.
- Interface (Layout): select Automatic (Recommended), Mobile, or Desktop / Tablet. The automatic option adapts the presentation to the available space.
Account and servers
Under Account, you can view saved servers, select another one, or use Add new server.
The Delete server action asks for confirmation and removes the saved connection from Frame. It does not delete the server or its library.
Logout leaves the active connection and returns to the sign-in screen. Saved connections may still appear in the list; if you need to remove one from that list, use its delete action.
Information and help
From Settings, you can view the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Frame version.
If you need to report a problem, the Developer Options section includes Enable Logging and Share Logs. These controls let you prepare a record of what happened when requesting help; you do not need them for everyday use of Frame.
