Introduction to Frame
Frame is an application for watching movies, TV shows, and other videos from your servers. You can connect it to Jellyfin to browse libraries, or to an FTP or SFTP server to open videos organized in folders.
The application pays particular attention to screen reader and keyboard use. You can browse content, control playback, and personalize your experience through its different sections.
What you need
- A device on which you can install Frame.
- Access to a compatible server and the details needed to sign in.
- A connection to that server to browse and play its content. If you use Jellyfin, you can also save videos to watch offline.
Frame does not include movies or TV shows. The available content depends on the server you connect to and your account permissions. If someone has given you access to a library, ask them for the server address and your sign-in details.
Choosing a connection type
Jellyfin provides libraries with titles, cover images, synopses, and seasons, depending on the information available. It also supports features such as favorites, progress tracking, and downloads.
FTP or SFTP lets you browse folders and open the videos they contain. This option does not offer Jellyfin's rich catalog, favorites, or downloads. Progress is saved on the device without syncing to the server.
